About the Teacher Training in India

How do I register for the Teacher Training Courses (TTC’s) in India?

Registration for the TTC’s in India can be done directly on the website. Please click here to register. At the moment we are working on a new website. If you wish to register for the TTC please also send us an email info@yogagita.org. Thank you for your cooperation.

How can I pay for the course in India?

You can pay for the course in cash or through online payment (Paypal or Transferwise). Please note: payments through online banking incur 8% charges. The fees of 8% of the course amount, can be avoided by paying cash in Mysore. Cash is accepted in Dollars, Euros and Indian Rupees; In India, every transaction of withdrawal of money from the ATM’s comes with transaction fees.

What is the language in which the course is taught?

All the courses of Yoga Gita are taught in English.

Are food and accommodation included in the Course Fees?

Food (brunch and dinner on course days), as well as accommodation, is included in the TTC course fees in India.

Where will you sleep?

We provide a combination of in-house accommodations and accommodations at a walkable distance from the Yoga Shala in Gokulam, Mysore. The standard accommodation is a shared bedroom, for an additional cost of $ 200 for the 200 hrs course and an additional $ 300 for the 300 hrs course you can stay in a private room. About Mysore, India

What is the temperature in Mysore?

Located in the tropics, Mysore has a moderate climate along the year with temperatures, which vary from 15 degrees Celsius during night time to 32 degrees Celsius at daytime.

I wish to come to Mysore (India), to which airport do I fly?

For the courses in Mysore, you can book a flight to Bangalore city, recently named as Bengaluru. The International Airport in Bangalore is known as Kempegowda International Airport.

How do I get from the airport in Bangalore to the Yoga school in Mysore?

When you arrive at the airport in Bangalore we recommend you go by taxi. We can help you to book a local priced taxi from the airport to the Yoga school in Mysore at any time during day and night. It is about 4 hours drive away. For making a booking, please provide us with your flight details at info@yogagita.org. Our taxi driver will wait also when there is a delay, only an extra waiting time charge will be calculated. The amount of the taxi can be paid at the Yoga Gita at arrival. This includes also toll fees, a bottle of water and normal parking costs.

Is a visa required for India?

Yes, most nationalities need a (tourist) Visa for India. Please consult your local Indian embassy.

I am very stiff and not flexible, can I attend your course?

Yes, you can attend our courses, with the right approach in the practice of Yoga postures your body will change. You will get more awareness of your body. By attending the course the anatomy of the body, different layers of the Self, and their benefits are understood. Read about our approach to Yoga here.

I just started practising Yoga and I am interested to know more about Yoga, can I attend your courses?

Sure, our courses are for all who are interested in the real subject of Yoga. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced in any kind of Yoga style, we will guide you in an understanding of the subject of Yoga in its complete form.

I don’t want to become a Yoga teacher after completing the TTC, can I attend the course?

Yes, you are more than welcome to experience the science of Yoga, also if you don’t want to become a Yoga teacher (yet).

I have been practising/teaching Yoga for years; will it be interesting for me to attend your courses?

Definitely, you will be developing a complete understanding of Yoga for self-development or becoming a Yoga teacher on a different level.

About the 300 hrs Yoga Teacher Training

What is difference between 200 and 300 TTC?

In the 200 hrs TTC, the foundation is built for the right direction in your practice. So you become acquainted with the most important principles in the eight limbs and will know how to apply them on the mat, in daily life and how to teach them. The 300 hrs TTC is designed to express the deeper philosophy through your practice. Moreover, through a strong center which you will develop, interaction with the outside world becomes easier. It is a deeper spiritual journey beyond any illusions and assumptions that will expose you to the light of ultimate Reality.

About the Sadhana program

What is the Sadhana program?

The word “Sadhana” means a dedicated way of life towards a higher spiritual goal. The “Sadhana” program of Yoga Gita provides the Sadhakas (the spiritual seekers) with the space, the environment and the facility for spiritual growth. This program has been designed to offer the opportunity to everyone who is on the spiritual path to study, to practice and to understand the Self.

Who can attend the Sadhana program?

Anyone who has an intention to get exposed to a true spiritual environment beyond any faiths and beliefs is welcome to join.

Is there a best time to attend the Sadhana program?

The Sadhana program runs throughout the year. You can join and leave the program at any day of the year. Throughout the year we have people coming and doing their practise. Meet others alike and feel free to just be. If you worry about the weather, you should know that Mysore has the best climate ever. As the city is located in the tropics, it enjoys a moderate climate with temperatures in the summer (april-june) between 20-35°C. In the winter season (short period during dec/jan), it gets colder at night but still warm during the day. Usually, temperatures vary between 12° C to 30° C.

How do I pay for my monthly stay?

The easiest is to pay cash at our reception. Also, transaction through bank account can be made using for example Transferwise. Please note that any online transaction comes with an additional 8% extra charge.

What kind of volunteer work can I do?

There are different categories of work fields where you can work in: Marketing, Education, Writing, Arts & Crafts, Food & Beverages, Economics, Business, Construction, Engineering. We would love it if you do something which you love to do, to bloom in your fullest potential, so we will discuss the field of work together in harmony.

Do I need to work every day as a volunteer, or are there scheduled free days?

Generally, we keep Monday till Friday as volunteering days. The weekends are kept free, except for TTC periods where Saturdays half days are also included. Normally the work assigned will be what you love to do. Yoga Gita will not act from the background that some work has to be squeezed through another human being. The whole system will run with love and affection as a base having sufficient time for self-practice. If the work is more manual type or laborious work it will not be more than 20 hours per week.

I wish to stay one month and do volunteering work, is that possible?

A minimum of 3 months is required to allow you to get immersed in Yoga Gita’s family and find your own rhythm amongst us.

About the 50 hrs Yoga Teacher Training

When are the next blocks in the TTC in UK and/or the Netherlands scheduled?

The 200 hours Teacher Training Course in Europe is divided in 4 blocks of 50 hours.

Is it possible to combine the TTC in India with the 50 hrs in UK and/or the Netherlands?

Yes, it is possible to combine the TTC in India with the 50 hrs program in UK and/or the Netherlands. Our TTC’s have the same structure. The TTC in India is a 200 hours, 4 weeks, consecutive program. The 200 TTC in UK and/or the Netherlands is divided in 4 blocks of 50 hours. Contact us at info@yogagita.org for more information.

Are food and accommodation included in the Course Fees?

For the 50 hours TTC programs in Europe, you can choose to book the course including food (2 meals) and accommodation, or only including food (2 meals).

Where are the accommodation arrangements made for students?

For the 50 hrs TTC we try to arrange the possibility of different accommodation types; like camping, shared room or single room.

Definitely, you will be developing a complete understanding of Yoga from an authentic source. Please feel free to bring any kind of philosophical question from any background to the class. It is our experience that the teachings will take you to a different level of practise as well as your teachings.
