Yoga Gita Ashram is located about 15 km north of Mysore. The center, surrounded by agricultural fields, borders the river Kaveri where all kinds of animal life can be observed. The tranquility of nature vibrates day and night through the sounds of the river, crickets and all kinds of birds. This is the place where volunteers, guests and followers of Sage ViGo stay and live a spiritual life. The place is an inspiring environment amidst nature to celebrate life and enjoy a variety of spiritual programs to evolve the Self. Mysore has a moderate tropical climate throughout the year with a temperature which varies from 15 to 32 degrees Celsius. Yoga Gita Ashram is easily accessible by train from Bengaluru and Mysore and is also well-connected by road along the National Highway from Bangalore to Mysore. It has several monuments which have been nominated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Yoga Gita Ashram, a variety of programmes are happening, from Yoga Teacher Training Courses, Pancha Kosha Meditation & Detoxification Retreats, Brahma Mouna Silent Retreats, to Yoga Immersion programmes or diving fully into the study of the Self by attending the Sadhana programme.

Mysore is the Yoga capital of southern India and with around 1,000,000 inhabitants, the third-largest city in the state of Karnataka in India. Mysore, the city of palaces, is a popular travel destination in South-India. (Also called Mysuru, the city was earlier the capital of the Wodeyar rulers. The Wodeyar rulers were great patrons of art and culture, which you can see in the rich heritage of the city). Located in the tropics, Mysore has a moderate climate along the year with temperature varying from 15 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius. Yoga Gita is situated in the heart of Mysore city (Gokulam area) well connected, surrounded by many amenities and affordable accommodations for students who wish to stay nearby. Mysore is totally safe for any tourists and families. In the shala, daily classes are happening. They are mainly Posture classes (Asana practice) often combined with short Meditations and Pranayama. In these daily yoga classes we are working with all the five sheaths of you, naming body, breath, mind, wisdom and soul (or the Self). You will be guided into different postures in accordance with the ancient yogic philosophy to facilitate your experience of the true “Self” beyond any mind conditionings or past influences. You will be directed towards expressing yourSelf in a total freedom state which is the secret to a healthy and happy life.
